Itinerary

Day 1: Puno - Floating Islands of the Uros - Amantaní Island

Our tour begins at 8:00 a.m. with hotel pick-up. We will then head to the pier to board the boat and depart for the islands. Our first stop will be the Floating Islands of the Uros. Our tour will begin with an explanation of the site and how these islands were built on the highest navigable lake in the world. Our visit will last a maximum of one hour. Afterward, we will travel to Amantaní Island. Along the way, we will be able to admire the scenic beauty of the lake. At the port of Amantaní, local families will welcome us. We will then hike for 30 minutes to a family’s home. Once we arrive, we will settle in and have lunch. In the afternoon, you will have the option to hike to one of the sacred mountains known as Pachatata. This hike will begin at the discretion of our guide. In the evening, the families organize a party for their visitors. They will also provide traditional island attire for you to participate in the festivities; this activity is optional. The family will provide dinner, and you will spend the night on the island.

Day 2:Amantaní Island - Taquile Island - Puno

The following day, after breakfast, the families will take us to the port to say goodbye. Then we will depart for Taquile Island, a journey of approximately one hour. On Taquile, you will enjoy a pleasant walk. During this walk, you will visit the main square, where you will have free time to browse the artisan shops and see the island’s textiles. You will also visit a local family to learn about their customs. Afterward, we will enjoy lunch. Then we will continue our walk to the island’s second port and board our boat back to the city of Puno. The tour ends at approximately 3:30 p.m.
