Afterward, head to the hills above Cusco where the Sacsayhuamán fortress stands, its imposing walls offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the city. Your tour concludes at Puca Pucara, Quechua for “red fort,” an architectural complex believed to have been used for military purposes, featuring multiple rooms, plazas, baths, aqueducts, and towers. It is thought to have been used by the Inca retinue while the ruler rested at Tambomachay. After the visit, you will return to the historic center of Cusco.
