Itinerary

Day 1: AREQUIPA/CHIVAY

Transportation will pick you up from your hotel to begin our journey to one of the deepest canyons in the world. We’ll take the Yura road, skirting the Chachani snow-capped mountain towards Pampa Cañahuas (Aguada Blanca and Salinas National Reserve), habitat of the beautiful South American camelids, the vicuñas. In the Tocra wetlands, we’ll be able to appreciate a variety of migratory birds, including flamingos. We’ll stop at the Mirador de los Volcanes (Volcano Viewpoint), which is also the highest point on the road (4,910 meters above sea level), from where we’ll appreciate a large part of the western mountain range.
Lunch will be in the town of Chivay (at your own expense) for approximately one hour. After lunch, we’ll continue to check into your chosen accommodations.

In the afternoon, we will enjoy the thermal baths, whose medicinal waters range from 35° to 38° Celsius in the pools.
In the evening, dinner accompanied by a folkloric show (at passenger’s expense).
Overnight stay in Chivay – Colca.

Day 2:CHIVAY / CRUZ DEL CONDOR / CHIVAY / AREQUIPA

At 6:00 a.m., we will have breakfast at the hotel, then head to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint, a strategic observation point overlooking the Colca Canyon and the spectacular flight of the condor. On the way back, we will stop in the towns of Pinchollo, Maca, and Yanque, which boast beautiful colonial churches, as well as at the Antahuilque viewpoint, from where we will observe the impressive terracing of the valley.
